Keith Hancock, Race Director.

Staying at Seaford...
There is a selection of bed & breakfasts, guesthouses, hotels and camping and caravanning in and around Seaford. If accommodation is full in Seaford then both Brighton and Eastbourne are only a short drive away. For information on accommodation to fit your budget either telephone Seaford Tourist Information on 01323 897426 or visit the website at www.seaford.tic@lewes.gov.uk

Eating before the race...
There are restaurants, pubs and bars in and around Seaford that offer good food if you want to load up on carbohydrates the day before the run. There will be on site catering on the day of the event serving hot & cold food and drinks.

Main Points to Remember...

1 Allow plenty of time to get to the venue, park and get to the start line for your compulsory race safety brief. Make sure you take these competitor notes with you for reference!

2 Know exactly your start time and how many laps you are doing.

3 Use the footpath and take care when crossing the roads.

4 Please treat the venue and local people around the course with respect as they do support the event.

5 Enjoy the race and once you have read all this information, if you still have questions please ask at race information, we are there to help!

Race Itinerary & Info.....

Directions & Parking
Follow the A259 Brighton to Eastbourne road through Seaford and follow the signs for “Triathlon Parking” in the town centre. There is allocated parking for the event which is signposted right next to the race venue. There is a £2.00 charge for parking, which the Rotary Club of Seaford is collecting. Money raised from parking will go to local and national charities. Alternatively use any of the pay and display car parks in and around Seaford. There is also a rail service run by Govia between Brighton and Eastbourne, which stops at Seaford. Seaford will be busy so allow plenty of time for parking.

Registration
You do not need to register on the day as your race number and pins have been sent to you in the post. Please refer to these competitor race details for anything you need to know. You collect your official race T-shirt at the finish line after you have finished.

Race numbers must not be mutilated or folded in any way, as this will constitute a 2 minute penalty and may mean no results! Make sure your race number is clearly displayed on your front and is pinned in all four corners.

It is good practice to write your name, blood group and any allergies you may have on the back of your race number in the unfortunate case of an accident!

Please note, for your safety, mobile phones or any type of personal music system is not permitted whilst competing in the event.

Toilets
Public toilets are situated on the seafront.

The Course

The run starts out on Martello Field, alongside the finish line, then up onto the beach esplanade, heading out past Martello Tower to the turn points, then back past Martello Tower for a short, but quite steep climb up to the rear of the golf club. The short climb and descent is on gravel and grass. From there you drop back down into Seaford towards the town centre on footpath before heading back towards the seafront to complete the lap. Please take care on the run course as there may be other pedestrians using the esplanade and public path sections.
When you have completed the required laps you then filter through onto Martello Field and through to the finish line (which is signed and clearly visible). There are two equally spaced feed stations on each lap of the run course and at the finish line serving energy drink, and water.
